Dyslexia and Visual Stress: an excerpt from BBC’s “The One Show”.
The film below is a clip from “The One Show” (BBC)presenting the value of reading through colour, and showing reading rulers being used in a Dyslexia Friendly Classroom. This research group, represented here by Dr Mary Fowler, specifies the use of blue and yellow tints. A wider body of research, such as that led by Professor Arnold Wilkins of Essex University, indicates that a full spectrum of colour should be made available to ensure that nobody “slips through the net”. You will notice that one child on the video is using a pink reading ruler, while another child is reading through a green one… !
